Welcome!

Thank you for attending the The Reusies® 2023.

We’re so glad you’re joining us as we celebrate all the heroes building a better way than throw-away—and especially, the winners of this year’s awards in the categories of Activist of the Year, Community Action of the Year, Most Innovative Reuse Company, and and honoree for Corporate Initiative of the Year.

This year’s theme is collaboration & cooperation. Seeing our way to a New Reuse Economy will require innovators, corporate sustainability officers, NGO staff, community and environmental justice leaders and government officials—all working together to transform how we consume. And today, we come together to celebrate the community efforts that are making that vision a reality. Join us!

Indisposable Live® (live!)

Working Together to Build the New Reuse Economy

Building on The Reusies’ central theme of collaboration, we’ll have an open and engaging discussion on the successes, challenges, opportunities and cooperation needed among different sectors (e.g. corporations, investors, NGO/non-profits, communities and government) to make our vision of the New Reuse Economy a reality.

The panel will be moderated by Dr. Priscilla Johnson, Chief Strategy Officer, Upstream.

  • Become a business sponsor

We’re looking for passionate, mission-driven organizations across the country like you to partner with us. Upstream is visionary, creative, driven, curious and solutions-focused. We see the value in leveraging and harnessing the best of businesses and corporations, government, nonprofits and communities to build a better future.

The Reusies is produced and underwritten by Upstream, a 501(c) non-profit organization, with support from Closed Loop Partners. Your donations ensure The Reusies, “the Oscars of the reuse movement”, can continue as an annual event, accelerating the transition to a new reuse economy.

Upstream sparks solutions to plastic pollution. But for us, the problem isn't just single-use plastic - it’s “single-use” itself. It's the throw-away economy at the root of plastic pollution and a host of other problems. So we’re building a movement to make throw-away go away by helping policymakers, businesses, community leaders, and individuals ideate and accelerate the transition from single-use to reuse.
